- James Philip Mitton was a SandHoke Early College High School alumnus who was very active with the school’s debate team.
- James was constantly serving his community, particularly in animal rescue and welfare, dedicating his time to making the world a better place. James led an incredible life that was tragically cut short when he was killed by an irresponsible wrecker driver in July of 2024.
- This scholarship seeks to help fund college or trade school education for a SandHoke Early College student who shares the passions of James Philip Mitton.
- Any high school student at SandHoke Early College High School in Raeford, North Carolina, may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re active in debate and in community service.
