- Jerome overcame childhood trauma in order to follow his dreams of going to college, an obstacle that many other students also have to face on the road to higher education. Family conflict, financial struggles, mental illness, and other challenges can make college even more daunting to pursue, closing off many opportunities for the future.
- This scholarship aims to honor the life of Jerome D. Carr by supporting students who have experienced mental health struggles.
- Any BIPOC undergraduate student pursuing a two or four-year degree may apply for this scholarship.
