Who Can Apply:
- Julia Baucom was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s in her early 40s and has continued to persevere for over a decade.
- Early onset Parkinson’s brings about high medical bills, and because of the nature of the disease, people diagnosed often struggle to continue working. Parents with early onset Parkinson’s who have children in college may find the diagnosis challenging, and because of the financial issues it brings about, are not able to support their children in college. The Julia Baucom Children of Families with Parkinson’s Disease Scholarship will help families affected by Parkinson’s Disease, giving students who have direct and/or indirect experiences with the diagnoses a chance to fund their higher education.
- High school seniors and undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they have a GPA of at least 3.0 and have been affected directly and/or indirectly by Parkinson’s Disease through a personal situation and/or immediate family member.
Submission: To apply, please submit a short video describing your personal situation and/or introducing your immediate family member.
