Who Can Apply:
- Kayla Nicole Monk sadly passed away on November 22, 2023, due to Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, where the left ventricle in her heart didn’t fully develop, requiring three open heart surgeries before the age of four.
- The procedures Kayla underwent helped to reconstruct her heart and extend her life for twenty-three years. Kayla was a fun and easygoing girl who had a passion for helping people. She wanted many businesses to flourish in her name so that she could be the next Steve Jobs. Kayla had a vision that she wanted to achieve and set her mind to accomplishing each goal.
- This scholarship seeks to carry on Kayla Nicole Monk’s name and legacy by helping students achieve their dreams.
- Any minority female high school, undergraduate, or graduate student who has at least a 2.5 GPA and community service experience may apply for this scholarship if she is pursuing culinary arts or a STEAM field.
