- It’s important to celebrate and encourage these skills and efforts, supporting students as they improve their communities and their character. The Linda Kay Monroe Whelan Memorial Education Scholarship will support a student in California who volunteers in their community.
- This scholarship memorializes Linda Kay Monroe Whelan who was a dedicated public servant, both through her lifelong career as a teacher and in her free time through her volunteer activities. Linda was a resident of Riverside, CA and was passionate about her community and making it a better place every day.
- High school seniors in California are eligible to apply if they are from a low-income background, have volunteer experience and are planning to pursue a college education after high school.
