Who Can Apply: The Locher Scholarship is made available by the estate of Carl and Kathy Locher, combining their passions for education and agriculture. The $9,000 scholarship is being offered to a graduating El Dorado County high school senior who has participated in at least three years of FFA and/ or 4-H and is planning to study agriculture. The scholarship will be paid in four installments of $1,000 freshman year, $2,000 sophomore year and $3,000 both junior and senior years. Sophomore , junior and senior year scholarships will be paid after proof of continued enrollment with an agricultural related major and a minimum GPA of 2.5.
* Member of FFA and/ or 4-H for a minimum for three years
* Graduating from an El Dorado County High School
* Minimum High School GPA of 2.3
* Pursuing an agriculture related major at accredited 2-year or 4-year college/ university or vocational school. Agricultural related field or specialized training program whose work is advancing efforts to improve agricultural systems including, but not limited to the studies of science, business, technology of plant and animal production, engineering, biology, energy, environmental science, and natural resources management.
