- At the time when she passed away, Malia was a licensed and practicing esthetician and was passionate about her work. Often, students turn away from the fields they care about due to a lack of encouragement and financial support, choosing more traditional lines of work or leaving behind higher education altogether.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the memory of Malia L. Harris by supporting students who share her passions.
- Any high school, undergraduate, graduate, or trade school student who is pursuing a career as an esthetician may apply for this scholarship.
