Who Can Apply:
- You made it to college — and you did it carrying more than most. Maybe you’ve had to work part-time or full-time to make ends meet, cover costs on your own, or find your way through a place no one in your family had been before. You’re building your college experience now, and you’ve kept moving forward.
- That’s what the Maverick Scholarship is about. A maverick makes their own way, usually without much help along the path. You’ve already shown what you can do under conditions that would have stopped a lot of people — and this is here to help you keep going.
- Any undergraduate student at the University of Oklahoma may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, applicants who are first-generation college students, those from single-parent households, students who are low-income, applicants with significant work hours or caregiving responsibilities, those with limited access to college guidance or preparatory resources, and applicants facing housing instability, family disruption, or other major hardship during the high school years are preferred.
