- Max Bungard was a beloved son, friend, and human being who made everyone around him smile in his short life.
- Max sadly battled drug addiction and made hard efforts to win the battle prior to his passing in 2023. His struggle with addiction did not define his character, and he remained incredibly loving through the end. Max was known for his playful personality, which made him a true joy to be around.
- This scholarship is intended to encourage and support students on their path to recovery. It also serves as a reminder that addiction does not define a person—just as it did not define Max. He was known for his joy and his ability to leave everyone he met with a smile.
- Any undergraduate or graduate student who is dealing with drug addiction or is maintaining sobriety after dealing with drug addiction may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
