- Military members risk their lives every day for the protection of their country, often coming home and struggling with disabilities or disorders such as PTSD.
- While PTSD rates vary based on the service era, with 15% of Vietnam War veterans developing PTSD as compared to 12% of Desert Storm veterans, PTSD can affect any military veteran. To cope, many veterans adopt pets or get service animals to deal with their stress.
- This scholarship seeks to support military veterans by helping them pay off their debt and take care of their mental health.
- Any military veteran who has student debt may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
