Who Can Apply: The purpose of the Native Forward Scholarship for Service is to provide financial assistance to American Indian and Alaska Native undergraduate, graduate, and professional students pursuing degrees full-time at an accredited institution in any field of study. To be considered, applicants must maintain satisfactory academic progress.
Priority is given to applicants pursuing fields such as, but not limited to, special education, elementary education, early childhood education, secondary education, education leadership, education administration, guidance counseling, social work, business administration, or information technology.
Scholarship for Service is a payback service scholarship, and recipients must agree to relocate, if necessary, to obtain acceptable employment for the service payback agreement. The payback agreement is a year-to-year match, meaning that if you are funded for two years, you are required to work in an approved location for two years to fulfill and forgive your scholarship.
The number of awards and award amounts varies from year to year based on the number of qualified applicants and funding. This opportunity is a need-based award.
