Who Can Apply:
Taliesin Nexus is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the 2016 Odysseus Fellowship program. Odysseus Fellows are placed in paid three-month internships at leading Hollywood production companies. Successful applicants are young, liberty-inspired filmmakers or other creatives pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
All Odysseus Fellowship hosts are either affiliated with one of the top movie studios OR a major independent actively making films or TV shows. These companies include:
- ImageMovers (Cast Away, The Polar Express),
- Disruption Entertainment (The Revenant, Noah)
- Mpower Pictures (Passion of the Christ, Bella)
- Warped LLC (Mr. and Ms. Smith, Law Abiding Citizen)
- Tribune Studios (Salem TV series)
Internship candidates participate in a rigorous application process in which successful applicants must demonstrate superior creative talent, previous industry experience, and a passion for liberty. Accepted fellows receive a $5000 stipend to cover room and board during their three-month fellowship.
The educational component focuses on career and talent development. Odysseus fellows attend TN’s Apollo Workshop as well contribute to the Taliesin Nexus Pallas Athene Film Study Guide. You will receive a list of 100 films to choose from where you will write short summaries regarding the theme of liberty in selected films of your choosing. Finally, fellows write for TN’s Smash Cut Culture blog, exploring the intersection of liberty and the culture.
The true measure of a successful intern is whether he or she was able to get noticed by executives, and, with the help of those mentors, attain a paid position at the conclusion of the fellowship. More than half of all internships placed through our program have been offered jobs or were attached to projects after their fellowship ended.
