Who Can Apply:
- The Rotary Club of Pearlridge has spent over three years volunteering at the Pu’uloa Springs area, turning it from a weed-covered plot to a welcoming area with many Native Hawaiian plants. In addition to hundreds of hours of landscaping we sweep the area for trash.
- The Pu’ola Springs Scholarship was established to foster a mindset of continued environmental stewardship, encourage participation in Rotary, generate thought-provoking ideas for community engagement and to inspire students to consider the value of restoring and care for our ‘aina.
- Any high school student or undergraduate student in the state of Hawaii who has a record of volunteerism may apply. While this is not an official Rotary scholarship, strong applicants will emphasize volunteerism throughout their schooling and career, as many Rotarians do. Preference will be given to students who have volunteered in gardens and other environmental efforts, as well as those in an Interact club.
Submission: To apply, tell us about the potential you see for the environment and future of Hawaii, how you plan to stay involved with environmental stewardship through college and beyond, and what your financial circumstances are.
