They say these are the best years of your life, but there are times when being a student is very tough.
After many late nights or all nighters are brains get so boggled from the little assignments that keep popping up that we can forget the big picture. What are your life goals and ambitions? What are you trying to achieve with this education. There are some who have known the answer to this since pre-school, and there are the rest us who evade the question “what are you going to do with your life” at all costs. 1. Optimist International Essay Contest: $2,500
Is your glass half full? Here is a scholarship for youth with a positive attitude. The Optimist club is sponsoring an essay contest. Youth, under the age of 19 (as of December 31st), are eligible to turn in a 700 word essay on the topic, “how my education is the key to a successful future.” Essays chosen from local clubs will then be judged by the district.

2. The Straightforward Media’s Teacher Scholarship: $500
Everyone knows that school teaching jobs, the educating of future generations, is the noblest profession. Sadly everyone knows that teachers don’t always receive the best salaries. Straightforward media offers this scholarship every three months to teachers, or students pursuing a teaching degree. The money goes straight to the scholarship winner, so it can be used toward living expenses as well as tuition.
