1. CBCS Performing Arts Scholarship
The Congressional Black Caucus Spouses Performing Arts Scholarship program was established in 2000 to provide financial assistance to students pursuing a career in the performing arts.
Qualified applicants must be pursuing a degree full-time at an accredited college or university, with a minimum GPA of 2.5 and a commitment to leadership. Applicants must submit an online application, personal statement, college transcripts, and two letters of recommendation. You must also include a two-minute CD-R or DVD of a recent performance. 2. Home Depot Trade Scholarship Program: $5,000
Home Depot recently announced its support for a new scholarship program to support students enrolled in building and construction trade programs. The program will award $500 scholarships to more than 600 students nationwide. Applicants must be enrolled in their last year of a building and construction trade school program. Students can be studying to become a home builder, general contractor, carpenter, electrician, plumber, HVAC specialist, or other building and construction trade professional. 3. Adelante! National Scholarship: $3,000
The U.S. Education Leadership Fund is committed to increasing the college graduation rates of Hispanics. As a way to meet this goal, the Fund has partnered with the Miller Brewing Company to establish its $1,000 – $3,000 Adelante! Scholarship for rising juniors or seniors in college. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be pursuing a degree in International Business, General Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Public Relations or Sales. To be eligible, applicants must be attending one of the participating institutions. In addition to your application and personal statement, applicants must also submit two letters of recommendation expressing their leadership potential. See website for deadline.
