Who Can Apply:
- Ronald Chatters was a beloved husband who devoted twenty-two years of his life to fighting for the freedom we enjoy in the United States.
- Ronald served in the all-Black 503rd Artillery Battalion Second Infantry Division, “second to none.” He was brave and dedicated not just to his family, but also to his country. Unfortunately, despite their courage and selflessness, underrepresented minorities who serve often don’t receive the recognition or gratitude that they deserve.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Ronald Chatters by supporting minority students who are interested in pursuing a military career.
- Any high school student who is an underrepresented minority who participates in JROTC may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
Submission: To apply, tell us about your exposure to military life, your knowledge about the minority experience in the military, what your goals are, and how participating in JROTC has impacted you.
