Who Can Apply:
- Lasya Voonna, a 10th grader at Thomas Edison Energysmart Charter School in Somerset, NJ, and her brother, Gagan Voonna, an 11th grader, are dedicated volunteers in their community. They share a belief in the transformative power of education and are committed to breaking down financial barriers that hinder deserving students from attending college.
- Within their neighborhood, they’ve successfully raised funds to support academically deserving and financially needy students pursuing higher education. Their efforts received a generous $500 donation from a family friend in memory of her departed Father-in-Law, Veerappan.
- The Voonna siblings aspire to provide students from diverse economic backgrounds with access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their dreams.
- Any low-income undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and extracurricular or volunteering experience may apply for this scholarship.
