- However, single mothers going back to earn their education often have the kind of persistence and dedication to persevere through these difficulties. With that being said, it isn’t easy to balance being a mother, supporting a family, and pursuing education. As a way to support single mothers earning their nursing degrees, Vicki Sartin’s Purpose in Nursing Scholarship will offer financial assistance to passionate single mothers.
