Who Can Apply:
- The Carol Ann and Ralph V. Haile Jr. Scholarship is a renewable merit-based scholarship open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted and are planning to attend any UNCF member institution, other Historically Black College or University (HBCU), or any accredited, four-year institution in the upcoming 2023-2024 academic year.
- To apply you must reside or be a permanent resident in the following geographic locations: Boone County, Kentucky; Campbell County, Kentucky; Kenton County, Kentucky; Brown County, Ohio; Butler County, Ohio; Clermont County, Ohio; Hamilton County, Ohio; Warren County, Ohio; Dearborn County, Indiana; and Franklin County, Indiana (see attached list of eligible zip codes).
- Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be interested in majoring in education and/or a STEM related field.
Submission:
- Possess a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
- Submit an online application;
- A one-page essay (a statement of career interests)
- A resume of activities and leadership;
- A recent academic transcript;
- A letter of recommendation (LOR)
- The recommender cannot be a family member.
- The individual recommender chosen by the student should be an educator, academic advisor/counselor, employment supervisor, or a community leader with whom the student interacts.
- The letter should provide key details about the interactions between the recommender and the applicant, and should highlight the applicant’s personality, work habits, and skills.
