Who Can Apply:
- Distinguished photographer Dorothea Lange once said that, “The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.”
- Pictures can often tell stories that words cannot. Photographers use their skills and artistic eye to focus on details that help enhance the little aspects of life. The KC R. Sandidge Photography Scholarship will support one high school senior who strives to make photography a part of their future.
- Any high school student with an interest in pursuing photography is encouraged to apply for this scholarship.
Submission: Applicants are invited to submit 4–5 of their best original photographs that showcase their unique vision, technical skill, and creative perspective. Along with the images, please include a short paragraph explaining why you selected these particular works and what they represent to you as a photographer. Submissions must be authentic photographs — while standard post-processing such as cropping, color correction, or exposure adjustments is allowed, images that have been altered with AI tools or transformed into digital artwork will not be accepted. The intent of this scholarship is to celebrate the art of photography in its truest form, highlighting the passion, effort, and creativity behind capturing a compelling moment or scene.
