Who Can Apply: Partially self-supporting in-state students having demonstrated financial need and a cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher receive preference for the Helen Matthewson Memorial Scholarship for full-time UCLA College undergraduates, which was established in 1997.
Applicants must demonstrate that they are:
- At least partially self-supporting
- A California resident
- A U.S. citizen
Applicants must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA and be enrolled during Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters. Award amount varies and is renewable.
Submission:
- Please upload a current resume that focuses on your work experiences.
- Please write a 150-word bio in third person that summarizes your work experiences and includes a brief statement of your intended major/minor and current career goals.
- LETTER OF REFERENCE: Please provide the name and email of someone (not a peer or family member) who will provide a letter of reference on your behalf that speaks to your work experiences and how you have balanced those with your studies and other activities. Be sure to obtain permission from your recommender before submitting their name and email address. Your recommender will automatically receive a link prompting them to upload the recommendation via the UCLA Scholarship Portal.
