Who Can Apply:
- Despite the great strides made by minority students in higher education, BIPOC students face significant obstacles that reduce their degree attainment rates.
- Financial resources are often a critical factor in one’s pursuit of higher education. For example, while 71% of Black students take out federal student loans, just 56% of white students do the same. High amounts of debt can cause BIPOC students to drop out, turn away from graduate degrees, or even avoid college altogether.
- This scholarship seeks to support students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities so they can afford to complete their degrees.
- Any BIPOC high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student who is or will be attending an HBCU to study communications may apply for this scholarship.
