- Students often face many unseen battles and have to fight hard every day to show up with heart and purpose.
- On top of the invisible or unknown struggles that students are enduring, there are the typical difficulties associated with the financial burdens of college. Panola College’s Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program involves a 16 week unpaid clinical rotation. This demanding rotation can make it difficult for students to work paying jobs that they may need to cover living expenses and transportation costs.
- This scholarship, created by Panola College OTA graduate, Triston Batchelor, aims to make college more accessible for students with limited support systems or other struggles in life.
- Any undergraduate student entering their final semester of Panola College’s OTA program in Texas may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have financial need. However, those who are parents or primary caregivers, those with a lack of family or parental support, and applicants with inconsistent housing or transportation are preferred.
