ALABAMA COMMISSION ON HIGHER EDUCATION

Alabama National Guard Educational Assistance Program

Amount: $500 per term for tuition, books, supplies; not to exceed $1,000 a year
Awards per Year: Varies;
The Award Is: Renewable
Award Is Open To: Students who are actively involved with a Federally recognized unit of the AL National Guard
Majors/Fields of Study: All Majors
Residency: Alabama
Student Attends School In: Alabama
Military Branch: National Guard
Other Comments: Applications must be signed by a representative of the Alabama Military Department and a financial aid officer from the school the student wishes to attend

Alabama Scholarships for Dependents of Blind Parents

Amount: Varies – Covers instructional fees and tuition

The Award Is: Renewable
Award Is Open To: Alabama residents from families in which the head of household is blind and whose family income is not sufficient to cover educational costs of the student.

Award Is Open To: Undergraduate, Alabama residents, attending a participating  Alabama institution and demonstrate financial need.

The Award Is: Renewable, based on continued participation in designated sport.
Award Is Open To: Full-time undergraduate athletes enrolled in public junior and community colleges in Alabama who demonstrate athletic ability through try-outs.
Majors/Fields of Study: All Majors

Award Requirements: Athletic ability will determine nomination. Limits on various sports apply.

Award Is Open To: Full-time undergraduate athletes enrolled in public junior and community colleges in Alabama who demonstrate artistic ability through competitive auditions.

Award Is Open To: Graduates of an Alabama public community or technical college that is part of the ACCS system and transferring to Alabama A&M University (AAMU) in Huntsville or Alabama State University (ASU) in Montgomery.
