Education and Training Vouchers for Youths Aging Out of Foster Care

Amount: Up to $5,000
Awards per Year: Varies
Award Is: Renewable
Deadline: Apply ASAP
Award Is Open To: Students attending postsecondary institution between the ages of 16 and 21 and are 1) in TDFPS foster care, or 2) have aged out of TDFPS foster care, but have not yet turned 21; or 3) are adopted from TDFPS foster care after turning 16 but who are not yet 21.

Fifth-Year Accounting Student Scholarship Program

Amount: Up to $5,000

Award Is: Non-Renewable
Award Is Open To: Students who demonstrate financial need, are enrolled at least half-time, will have completed at least 120 hours of college course work (including at least 15 semester credit hours of accounting) at the beginning of the term in which Award Is being made, and have not taken the CPA exam

Kenneth H. Ashworth Fellowship Program

Award Is Open To: Graduate students who demonstrate financial need and intend to work in Texas upon graduation
Majors/Fields of Study: Public affairs, Public service or Public administration
Residency: Texas
Student Attends School In: Texas
Comments: Two students per year are nominated from every eligible school by the Deans of public affairs, public service and public administration to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board. The recipient is selected by a committee at the Coordinating Board. Applications submitted by Deans are due to the Coordinating Board by February 20 of each year.

Marine Corps Foundation Scholarship

Amount: Full tuition and fees
Awards per Year: Varies
Award Is: Renewable
Award Is Open To: Undergraduate students who are the children of a U.S. Marine active duty, reserve, veteran with honorable discharge, medical discharge, was wounded, or killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps; or, active duty or reserve U.S. Navy Corpsman; or veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman with honorable discharge, medical discharge, was wounded, or was killed in the U.S. Navy.  Student must demonstrate some financial need.  GPA at least 2.0

Texas Armed Services Scholarship Program (TASSP)

Amount: Up to $10,000
Awards per Year: Varies
Award Is: Renewable
Award Is Open To: Graduating high school seniors in the top one-third of their class, GPA 3.0 or higher.  Students must be appointed by the governor, lieutenant governor, state senator or state representative and enroll in Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) in which they intend to complete four years.  Students must then commit another four years upon graduation in Texas Army National Guard, Texas Air National Guard, Texas State Guard, United States Coast Guard, or United States Merchant Marine
