- Janet obtained her associate’s degree in early childhood development and set an example that led four of her children to earn their own college degrees. Janet worked hard her whole life, championing single mothers to return to school to complete their education, and showing that anything is possible through hard work.
- This scholarship aims to support students who are passionate about pursuing higher education after finishing high school.
- Any African-American high school senior from Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, students from Pittsburgh Public Schools and applicants planning to attend an HBCU are preferred.
