Who Can Apply:
- Kris Lewis was a beloved mother who had a deep love for her community and town and was passionate about supporting students who were disadvantaged by living in rural areas.
- Students from rural areas often face significant struggles when it comes to pursuing higher education and job opportunities. There is often limited access to educational advantages, programs, and extracurriculars in rural communities when compared to the benefits students in more populated areas enjoy.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Kris Lewis by ensuring that any student who is interested in pursuing higher education has the opportunity to do so.
- Any high school senior in Oregon who has at least a 2.5 GPA and diverse extracurricular experience (athletics, band, drama, clubs, volunteering, etc.) may apply for this scholarship, but applicants from rural areas are preferred.
