- Loretta N. Berry spent approximately forty years working as a nurse in Massachusetts, including about twenty years at Brockton Hospital and twenty years in the Stoughton Public School system. Her career connected nursing with the everyday needs of patients, students, and their communities.
- The Loretta N. Berry Memorial Nursing Scholarship honors her memory by supporting students preparing to enter the nursing profession. It offers encouragement to future nurses as they develop their knowledge and consider the careers they hope to build.
- College freshmen, sophomores, and juniors currently enrolled in an undergraduate nursing program who plan to become nurses are eligible to apply.
