Who Can Apply:
- Louis Scafetta “Grizz” was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who passed away too soon on July 3rd, 2024.
- He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, and garden. His happy place was outside with nature and he had a passion for sharing that pleasure with others as well. In today’s society, young people aren’t often encouraged to spend time outside, connect with nature, and pursue environmental fields.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Louis (Grizz) Scafetta by supporting students who share his love for nature and wildlife.
- Any high school senior or current undergraduate in New York who is pursuing forestry, conservation, wildlife biology, or environmental sciences may apply for this scholarship opportunity. Those pursuing healthcare or sciences not related to forestry, conservation, wildlife biology, or environmental sciences are NOT eligible to apply.
Submission: To apply, tell us about yourself, where you will be attending school, what degree you will be going to school for, and why you’re pursuing your chosen field of study. Additionally, upload a picture of you in nature doing something you enjoy.
