- Luisa de Vera Buena was a beloved grandmother who passed away too soon.
- Despite many recent advancements in higher education, many women and girls still don’t have the opportunity to pursue their education or to pursue the fields they’re passionate about. In order to create a more equitable society, it’s critical that minority women have the resources necessary to thrive.
- This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Luisa de Vera Buena by supporting Filipino-American women who are furthering their education.
- Any Filipino woman who is pursuing a four-year undergraduate degree may apply for this scholarship.
