- In memory of Ruth and Johnnie McCoy, this scholarship aims to support African American high school seniors or current undergraduate students in any area of study so that they can pursue their dreams.
- Any high school senior or undergraduate student who is from North Carolina and of African American descent may apply for this scholarship.
