Who Can Apply:
- The special needs community has long been involved in advocacy for better treatment and better accommodations, but society remains largely inaccessible.
- From a lack of trained special education teachers in schools to inadequate infrastructure to a lack of funding for special needs programs and beyond, the world is often unwelcoming to those with disabilities or unique needs. Passionate, empathetic, and resilient individuals who enter fields with the goal of advancing the special needs cause are crucial in building a better future.
- This scholarship aims to honor the life of Kathleen Lehman by supporting students who are hoping to make a difference in the special needs community.
- Any undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing a degree that will allow them to work with the special needs community (social work, speech pathology, special education, etc.) may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
