Who Can Apply:
- Jobs in STEM are booming right now as scientific and technological advancements are made more rapidly than ever.
- Unfortunately, the STEM field is still dominated by white and Asian workers, leaving Black and Hispanic communities underrepresented. While 67% of STEM workers are white, only 9% are African American. Certain sectors are even less diverse, such as engineering, made up of 71% white workers and only 5% Black workers.
- This scholarship seeks to boost the representation of people of color in the STEM field to create a more diverse and equitable workforce.
- Any African American high school senior or undergraduate student who is pursuing a degree in STEM may apply for this scholarship.
