- Congenital heart defects are rare but impactful, affecting around 1% of babies born each year.
- Students with congenital heart defects often face challenges in their educational journeys that peers without the condition don’t have to worry about. Children with CHD are more likely to not meet academic standards in math or reading, which can make it difficult for them to pursue their higher education goals.
- This scholarship aims to empower students with CHD to freely pursue their dreams and aspirations, regardless of the obstacles they face.
- Any high school or undergraduate student who has CHD (congenital heart defect) may apply for this scholarship.
