- Verna Cherry was a beloved grandmother who dedicated her life to painting and loved seeing the next generation of artists share her passion.
- Verna was a lifelong oil painter from Galloway, New Jersey. She developed a legacy of helping young local artists begin their paths and achieve their goals. Verna was a steadfast presence and a source of inspiration and community for her fellow visual artists.
- This scholarship aims to honor the memory of Verna Cherry by supporting students who share her talent, passion, and kindness.
- Any high school senior or undergraduate student from NJ who is pursuing a visual arts major may apply for this scholarship opportunity. However, students whose artwork reflects an appreciation for nature, landscapes, flowers, or the beauty found in everyday life are preferred, as are students attending Stockton University and committed to using their creativity to make a positive impact on others.
