Description: We’ve heard a lot about incentives to help students from 2-year colleges transition into 4 year bachelor’s programs, but few programs offer the tremendous opportunity of Alabama’s Education Trust Fund: a free ride. Students currently pursuing degrees in Alabama’s community colleges can be eligible to graduate into four year programs at Alabama State University and Alabama A&M for free (that’s full tuition), thanks to a scholarship program through the state’s Education Trust fund. the program sets aside $1,000,000 dollars for these scholarships, which will help more than 500 students achieve their goal of an undergraduate education

Scholarship Name: Golf for Scholarships Fund
Description: Each year in Oakland, golf lovers get together to play for a good cause, raising money for scholarships to Oakland Community College. Each year, through partnerships and in-kind donations, the event raises even more money than the year before, making it possible for more and more OCC students to take advantage of the $1,000 scholarships each year. And that $1,000 is enough to cover 18 credits of study at Oakland Community College, which can really help keep the cost of your education down.
