The New York Times College Scholarship program is a prestigious scholarship offered to outstanding high school students who need a bit of extra financial help to achieve their academic goals. In addition to scholarships, program participants receive a summer internship at the New York Times. While the New York Times has had to make cuts to the program over the years, due to economic concerns, the company continues to award scholarships to those students who really stand out for their perseverance and academic achievements.

Description: eLearners.com, an online resource that matches students with online classes has created Project Working Mom to serve eager students who have real world responsibilities that may have been holding them back from pursuing higher education. Eligible students must be working and have children, and can be pursuing certificate, undergraduate, graduate, even doctoral degrees. Because eLearners.com is a for-profit corporation, you will have to fill out some additional demographic information and agree to received information for the companies affiliates. You will also have to write an essay about why you want to go back to school – spend a lot of time on this, and make sure that you really tell your story. Scholarship committees are looking for students that standout with personal stories of overcoming challenges.
