Scholarship Name: Alpha Kappa Alpha
Description: Alpha Kappa Alpha is a national sorority with a great philanthropic goal: to help smart students pay for college. The sorority’s charitable arm, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Educational Advancement Foundation, offers scholarship of up to $2,500 to students on the basis of academic merit and financial need. They have created two separate scholarship funds to ensure that the two are evaluated separately, so that all students have the opportunity to be considered for scholarships. While it does help to be a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha to be eligible to a scholarship, all students will be considered for the awards. AKA also offers a number of community fellowships to students, which are separate from the more traditional scholarship awards.

Alpha Chi Rho Educational Foundation
Scholarship Name: Alpha Chi Rho (AXP) Scholarships
Description: The Alpha Chi Rho fraternity makes number of awards available to members each year; the average amount of the award can be up to $4,000 each year. The three scholarship awards are named for AXP brothers, and each one targets a specific population. The Robert B. Stuart Undergraduate Man of the Year, for example, is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate student who is nominated by his chapter for the $1,500 award. The Charles W. Coughlan Award of $500 is given to the brother with the highest academic average.
