Scholarship Name: The Point Foundation Scholars
Description: The Point Foundation is one of the largest providers of scholarships for the LGBT community in the United States. Point not only provides multi-year funding for college, but augments these scholarships with mentoring and leadership skills building activities. Point seeks to support students who have faced particular hardship and marginalization by their peers and community. There are no specific academic criteria, but Point is looking for students who have been leaders and have financial, emotional and social need.

National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association
Scholarship Name: Leroy F. Aarons Scholarship Award
Description: This scholarship is named in honor of Leroy F. Aarons, the founder of National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association who was a pioneer in improving coverage of LGBTs in the media. The award provides tuition assistance to LGBT students who are pursuing degrees and careers in journalism and are committed to furthering the mission of NLGJA.
