Human Rights Campaign
Scholarship Name: Generation Equality Scholarship
Description: Students fighting for the rights of self-identified “queer” students can apply for $2,000 scholarships from the Human Rights Campaign. The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) rewards young activists who have shown a real commitment to the LGBT equal rights movement with money for college. The HRC sites an historical lack of support for LGBT students, from family and school, and offers these scholarships to help shoulder some of the burden association with applying for and paying for college. The HRC also offers a great listing of resources outside of this scholarship opportunity for LGBT students (and allies) looking for ways to pay for their college education.
