Scholarship Name: LeRoi Moore Fund Scholarship (4/20/12 – Award no longer being offered)
Description: In honor of the late LeRoi Moore, the Dave Matthews Band saxophonist who died in 2008, his foundation has created a number of college scholarships for students in North Carolina. The types of scholarships follow the musicians life through North Carolina, with one being given to music students at his alma mater Albermarle High School, students at North Carolina Central University, where his parents studied, and nursing students at the University of Virginia School of Nursing. Moore was treated at the University of Virginia Medical Center, and wished to give back to the nurses who helped him.
Award: $2,500 – $5,000
