Scholarship Name: MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award
Description: If you are a varsity athlete who has lettered in at least one sport, you can earn $1,000 in scholarships money from the Michigan High School Athletic Association. The MHSAA seeks students athletes in Michigan with a GPA of 3.5 or higher, who have also excelled in sports. The application process is somewhat rigorous, and you’ll need to write a 500 word essay in addition to submitting application materials. Each school has their own deadline for this scholarship, so if you are interested make sure to check in with your coach or college counselor so that you have plenty of time to get your application together.

National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA)
Scholarship Name: NSCA High School Scholarship
Description: If you’ve thought about pursuing a career in strength and conditioning (maybe you’re a wrestler, or into body building) and are a senior in high school, you should apply for a $1,000 scholarship from the National Strength and Conditioning Association. These scholarships are open to students with a 3.0 GPA or higher, and who have been active in community service in high school. If you’re already in college, or even looking to pursue an advanced degree, the NSCA has many scholarship opportunities available other than the high school scholarship, including master’s and doctoral, minority and military scholarships.
