Scholarship Name: Speedo Swimmer of the Quarter
Description: Synchronized swimming may not be as popular as sports like football or soccer in high school, but that doesn’t mean that you can’t earn money for college by being on the team! United Synchronized Swimming (or USA Synchro) have teamed up with Speedo to offer $500 to the “Speedo Swimmer of the Quarter.” The ideal student will be an outstanding synchronized swimmer who also actively participates in community service and volunteering, and is a leader at their school. Students can be of any age as long as they are a registered synchronized swimmer, and must be nominated by his or her coach. So if you are interested, don’t wait to ask your coach if you could be nominated. You can use the $500 award towards either your educational expenses or expenses associated with your training.

The Women’s Western Golf Foundation
Description: There are quite a few scholarships available for women golfers, as foundations and schools alike look to diversify the sport by encouraging young women to get involved. But how many don’t require that you are actually good at it? While the Women’s Western Golf Foundation awards $2,000 per year to qualified golfers seeking post-secondary education, it is much more interested in the interest in golf than it is in your actual skill. Of course, you must be involved in the sport, and you’ll be asked to write an essay detailing your experience. So if you love the sport, and can only get better, you’re the perfect candidate to apply for this golf scholarship.
