Michigan Llama Association

Description: Most high school and college students should be familiar with the MLA – the trusty book of rules for writing papers to the standards of the Modern Language Association. This scholarship is sponsored by a different kind of MLA – the Michigan Llama Association. Have you heard of it? We certainly hadn’t, but they give $500 scholarships to young members every year. Membership for the MLA costs $15, and comes with access to 4-H related activities like llama shows and events. The scholarship can be used for undergraduate, graduate, or certificate-granting vocational programs and (unlike many scholarships) can be renewed up to three times over the course of your education. And the best part is, you don’t have to commit to studying llamas to get the award! You just need to be a member and show your appreciation of the animal, and the farming life.
