Description: If you were ever told that skateboarding was a waste of time (but you know better), than the Patrick Kerr Skateboard Scholarship is probably for you. The scholarship award for avid skaters focuses on the positive impacts that skateboarding has on your life, and rewards these impacts with free money for college. If you have been an active promoter of skateboarding in your community, that’s even better! Skateboard activists are given special consideration. To apply for this scholarship, you’ll need to submit an original essay about how skateboarding has affected your life, two letters of recommendation from high school teachers or a guidance counselor, and your high school transcripts. The best part of this scholarship? It doesn’t matter if you’re good at skateboarding, as long as you are passionate about the sport, you are eligible for the award!

Western Golf Association
Scholarship Name: Evan Scholars Foundation
Description: I’m sure you’ve heard of college scholarships for golf, but what about scholarships for golf caddies? The Evans Scholars Foundation gives golf’s unsung heros their own chance to shine by offering a scholarship award to hundreds of outstanding caddies each year. This isn’t just a simple scholarship award either! Evans scholars get a full ride to four years of college, plus the chances to live together with other caddies in one of the Evan Scholars Houses at participating universities. Only 15 universities sponsor the Evan Scholars Program (the complete list is available on the website), but those 15 represent great schools across the country. Students must demonstrate financial need to qualify for this scholarship.
