Berkshire Hathaway/Buffet Foundation
Scholarship Name: Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation Scholarships
Description: You’ve probably never heard of Berkshire Hathaway (unless you are incredibly involved in financial planning and the stock market, that is), but you have likely heard of Warren Buffet, one of the richest men in the world. In addition to being one of the best financial minds in the world, Mr. Buffet also set his sights on a number of philanthropic initiatives. His late wife Susan Thompson Buffet played a large role in ensuring that their fortune was used to help some of the country’s young minds get the education that they deserve, without the added worry of having to make ends meet. Open to high school and undergraduate students in Nebraska, the Susan Thompson Buffet Foundation scholarships are worth up to $3,200 per semester, in addition to a $400 book allowance.
