Scholarship Name: Credit Challenged College Scholarship
Description: Have you been denied a student loan because of your poor credit history and tightening loan regulations? SPENDonLIFE has created a scholarship program to help you! The program, intended to raise awareness about the credit crisis and the possible pitfalls of using credit to pay for college, will reward up to 10 scholarships totaling $500 – $5000 each. Applicants must write an essay of no more than 500 words answering the question, “How has the slowed economy personal affected you, either financially or emotionally?”

Award is Open to: Eligible candidates must submit a copy of their loan rejection letter. In addition, they must be legal U.S. residents between the ages of 17 and 25, enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in a two- or four-year college or university.

The Tea Council of the USA
Scholarship Name: Calm-a-Sutra of Tea
Description: The Tea Council of the USA is sponsoring one of my all-time favorite scholarships again this year: The Calm-a-Sutra of Tea competition. Here’s the deal. You create an original, one- to two-minute video about a unique or creative way to drink tea, along with a message about the health benefits of black, green, white and/or oolong tea (no specific brands may be mentioned). Upload your entry to YouTube, then include a link with your scholarship application. Videos will be judged by a panel of tea experts on the health-related message, creativity and individuality. Popularity will also be judged, based on the number of hits each entry receives on YouTube.
Award: $15,000

Award is Open to: To be eligible, you must be at least 16 years of age and a legal resident of the U.S. or Puerto Rico.
