Scholarship Name: CF Care Forward Scholarship Program/Thriving Student Achiever Scholarship
Description: While some major companies look internally (to employees students) to grant scholarship awards for college, others look at the people who benefit from the products and services they provide. In the case of Abbott Laboratories, the pharmaceutical research, development and manufacturing company, awards students who are living with cystic fibrosis with college scholarships. Through the CF Care Forward Scholarship Program, 40 students are chosen each year to receive free money for college. Each student should submit an essay that talks about who inspires them; work can be submitted creatively, through poems or artwork. In addition to 40 awards of $2,500 for the essay contest, one addition student is chosen each year to receive the Thriving Student Achiever Scholarship, which is given to a student who has excelled in academics and community service as well.

Scholarship Name: Honeywell Innovators Scholarship
Description: Like many companies today, Honeywell (the technology company covering everything from aerospace to consumer home products) is focusing a lot of its time, energy and money on sustainability. They have even taken this theme into their scholarship program. Through the Honeywell Innovators Scholarship, Honeywell asks students interested in technology to submit ideas for innovation that tackle the idea of environmental sustainability and alternative energy. The scholarship is truly international, offering scholarships to 18 universities in the United States, Czech Republic and China. Students are eligible to apply in their junior year, and receive scholarship money to complete degrees in Aerospace, Chemical, Computer and Electrical Engineering. Scholarship recipients are also eligible for internships at any of their international locations. In addition to field of study, students are evaluated based on academic performance and communication skills.
