Scholarship Name: IFT General Scholarships for Freshman and Sophomores
Description: If you are interested in food science, can picture yourself manufacturing Fritos, designing the next Wheaties box or perfecting the recipe for Wonder Bread, your first stop for college scholarships should be the Institute of Food Technologists. In addition to the general IFT undergraduate scholarships fo $1,000, the Institute lists all kinds of scholarships available to both undergraduate and graduate students who are looking to enter the food science industry. To qualify for a general scholarship for freshman and sophomores, students must be pursuing a degree in food science or food technology at an institution that is approved by the IFT (a complete list of these schools is available here). Because of the number of scholarships offered by IFT, both general and specialized, it is very important that you read through all of the eligibility information on the site before moving forward with application submission; there maybe up to three different scholarships on the site for which you are eligible!
Awards per Year: Varies
Award is Open to: College Freshman and Sophomores

The department heads will be responsible for submitting the applications, and will also be notified directly about scholarship winners.
