The different types of nursing degrees and certifications are: Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN):Most LPNs are high school graduates who enter a vocational program to prepare for certification as a nurse. While the American Association of Nurses offers scholarships for nursing school on a national level, some smaller associations, like the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, and the Emergency Nurses Foundation Association have scholarships for nursing majors who already have a specialty in mind.
